OVERVIEW

Located in central Connecticut and recognized as one of the best prep schools in New England, Cheshire Academy is a perfect spot to host an overnight Revolution Volleyball Camp.  With top notch facilities both athletically, in the dorms, and dining services, join us this summer to improve your game, have fun with friends, and make new ones!

Camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each camper will be assessed and grouped with campers of similar age and ability levels. Adjustments to the groups may be made throughout the week to provide campers with opportunities to train with and compete against different players. Drills, games, and scrimmages are designed to help each camper learn, improve, and have fun!

Coach Andrews joined the University of Bridgeport Volleyball staff as an Associate Head Coach in August of 2021. Coach Andrews directs and trains the setters and helps manage the defense, while also calling the serving game. Andrews has been a part of 2 Conference Championships, garnering numerous ‘Setter of The Week’ callouts and 2 Setter of The Year Accolades. Bridgeport tout’s players ranked in the top 5 in the Nation for Serving and National Ranking for Setter Assists.

“Kelly Andrews is an outstanding volleyball coach. She is very knowledgeable and communicates easily with the athletes. She maintains high standards for organization and commitment, always trying to bring out the best in the players. She has a great variety of drills at her fingertips that have helped at all positions. While Kelly trains all positions, she has a particular focus on our setters. Our number one setter earned all- American Honors under coach Andrews.” Said Gary Mullin, Head Coach of University of Bridgeport.

Andrews Begun her coaching career at Theil College right after graduating from Slippery Rock University where she was Head Volleyball and Softball Coach.  Coach Andrews came to Connecticut to be the Assistant Volleyball Coach and ended up as Yale’s Assistant Softball Coach as well. While at Yale, Andrews was a part of Yale’s coveted ‘YHP’ Honors with an overall record of 19-9 with Women’s Volleyball. After her stint at Yale, Coach Andrews became the Associate Head Coach at The University of New Haven.

While raising her children, Coach Andrews went on to coach High School Volleyball at Newington for 4 years and the Boy’s Program at Lewis Mills for 4 years.

Coach Andrews spent 26 years coaching with Connecticut Junior Volleyball Club, managing the 17’s Boys National Team then moving to The Girls National Program. As a Coach with CT Jr’s, Coach Andrews has racked up over 50 Gold Tournament Medals and has made appearances at Nationals 3 Times. The Club has helped to develop numerous student athletes who have gone on to play in college. Several at the Division I & II levels.

Andrews has played at the National Level for several decades and continues to play competitively in several leagues and tournaments.

What to Expect

At Revolution Volleyball Camps you’ll receive individualized volleyball training through a superior curriculum regardless your age or ability level. We want young volleyball players to improve in every aspect of their game; our camps put a focus on individual skill development while incorporating drills and matches to emphasize teamwork.

Features of our volleyball staff include: Low camper-to-coach ratios; Groups based off of age & ability level; Fun, energetic, & experienced staff.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

Overnight Campers: Check in at 12PM-1PM Monday. Campers should be picked up at 12PM Thursday.

Extended Day Campers: Check in at 12PM-1PM Monday (9AM every other day). Campers should be picked up at 8:30PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and at 12PM Thursday. (Lunch and dinner are included)

Make sure campers bring all necessary volleyball equipment (knee pads, shoes, etc.), and a refillable water bottle.

11am: Small-Sided Games and Situational Scrimmages

6:30pm: Position-Specific Training and Serving or Evening Activity
8:30pm: Extended Day Campers Depart; Dorm Games,Evening Meeting, Social Time for Overnight Campers

What to Bring to Camp

Below is a suggested list of items to bring to camp. We suggest that campers do not bring expensive personal items such as cell phones or laptops. Campers are allowed to bring cell phones to camp to contact their guardians, but they are not allowed on the field during training sessions. Please label every article you bring to camp. All personal items are the responsibility of each camper. Revolution Volleyball and its camp staff are not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten items.
