OVERVIEW

Golden Gym is the home to Point Loma’s Volleyball and Basketball teams and has hosted some of the most memorable events in Point Loma Athletics history. We’re excited to host the Revolution Volleyball Camps at Point Loma Nazarene University. Join us and have fun while improving your volleyball skills this summer!

Camp is open to all ages and ability levels. Each camper will be assessed and grouped with campers of similar age and ability levels. Adjustments to the groups may be made throughout the week to provide campers with opportunities to train with and compete against different players. Drills, games, and scrimmages are designed to help each camper learn, improve, and have fun!

Camp Director

Maria Thrasher
Maria ThrasherHead Girl's Volleyball Coach at Gompers Preparatory Academy

Coach Maria Thrasher is the Head Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach at Gompers Preparatory Academy, where she brings a high-energy approach to the school’s athletic program. Coach Thrasher focuses on all aspects of the game to help players develop their skills as well as their confidence. Her leadership style is all about chasing excellence, helping every athlete master the fundamentals while building a team culture rooted in hard work and mutual respect.

Coach Thrasher’s coaching career is filled with big wins and a knack for helping players reach their full potential. Before transitioning to the girls’ side, Coach Thrasher spent two years developing the Boys’ Varsity program. Thrasher was named Coach of the Year after leading the team to an undefeated league title and a 14-2 record. Coach Thrasher kept that momentum rolling, coaching the team to a 16-8 season and another league championship tie, all while helping three players earn first-team all-league honors.

Thrasher’s deep connection to the sport comes from years of being right in the middle of the action. A four-year varsity player in high school, Thrasher learned early on what it takes to compete at a high level. Thrasher kept that spark alive playing intramural ball in college and is still a regular on the court today, playing competitive beach volleyball through Volo every Sunday.

Coach Thrasher is excited to bring her experience and knowledge of the game to the Revolution Volleyball Camps.

Take it from me when I say I love Revolution camps. I’ve been signing my kids up for their camps for years and the coaches are just outstanding. They really take the time to work on areas of improvement through one-on-one training with the campers!

I cannot believe how much my skills improved after only a 3 day camp. The coaches gave me informative advice and made me love the game even more then I already did!
